Working independently and in partnership with developers, Lakeside engages in special projects that preserve and create affordable housing. A significant part of that effort is ensuring that developers have opportunities to affirmatively support affordable housing goals using existing tools and subsidies.

Lakeside engages in advocacy at the local, regional, and state level to
promote effective policies that lead to the creation and preservation
of affordable housing opportunities. Current issues of concern include
responsible lending, access to banking and credit, housing and community
development policy, and fair housing.

Lakeside is a comprehensive organization offering an array of training services and referrals, including services
for first time homebuyers, renters, and condominium owners and
assocations. Most services are free or are provided at a nominal
charge.
